Professional Actor Weekend Retreat

Thursday June 12 at 6pm – Sunday June 15 at 6pm

Audition Prep & Feedback - a combination of play and feedback

Escape to this actor’s retreat and focus on your audition material in a country setting with support from two award winning actor/coaches from stage and screen and feedback from a Toronto talent agent. Madeleine Martin, a successful film, stage and voice actor with a lifetime of experience auditioning and Erika Batdorf, a movement/acting coach who is invited to perform and train actors internationally in authenticity and embodiment will co-teach the workshop. A talent agent from a Toronto company will watch your final pieces and offer feedback.

Come immerse yourself in a small community of actors in the country, while getting concrete professional feedback on your audition material.

You will be sent audition material in preparation for the retreat which you will need to memorize. But also please also come prepared with 2 contrasting monologues.

Day 1: Thursday June 12

4-6 pm

arrive and settle in, relax or walk the 3-acre property

6pm

community dinner PROVIDED, get to know your colleagues and the teachers

7:30pm - 9pm

ease in with some gentle embodied voice and movement work

sit around the campfire and then SLEEP

Day 2 & 3: Friday June 13 & Saturday June 14

9:30-11:15am

integrated physical/vocal work- enter and explore your text in a full and authentic guided whole-body process

11:30-1:00pm

specificity of text and intention work

Bonfire! hang out around the fire with some actors

Day 4: Sunday June 15
